In 2022, Dr. Elga Andriana, a researcher at CLSD UGM, was honored with the 2022 SEAMEO-Australia Education Links Award (SAELA). This recognition was granted for her project titled “Our (photo)Voice: Children and Young People’s Joint Action Research on Student Wellbeing for All.” This work is a collaborative initiative, involving Indra Kiling (UNDANA Kupang), Yohana (Anak Rimba WARSI), Dr Annie Gowing (Student Wellbeing Specialisation Leader, The University of Melbourne), and Prof David Evans (The University of Sydney) aimed to address the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students’ social, emotional, and cognitive well-being by empowering children as researchers. Spanning from November 2022 to December 2023, the project engaged students from primary and junior high schools in Yogyakarta, Kupang, and Jambi.

Training for Mentors and Young Researchers

Before delving into the research, both mentors and young researchers underwent comprehensive training sessions. These sessions, conducted by renowned experts, equipped them with the necessary knowledge and skills to implement the research.
